1. Product Description

The PIERRE Pro RFID Reader (Keypad + Fingerprint) is a wired access control reader with a fingerprint sensor, a PIN keypad and an RFID card reader. It connects to a PIERRE PRO or LITE Controller over Wiegand.

The PIERRE Pro RFID reader is available in two versions: Keypad + Fingerprint and Keypad + Bell. This manual covers the Keypad + Fingerprint version.

Control

Access is granted by fingerprint, RFID card or tag, or PIN. The reader uses the Wiegand 34-bit protocol and 13.56 MHz MIFARE cards.

Integration and Management

Set up the reader in the PIERRE Partner app: configure the door, link the reader and create the automation rules. Day-to-day management is done in the Smart PIERRE app: assign roles, define access rights, add or remove users, set PIN codes and register or delete RFID cards.

Fingerprint Enrollment

New fingerprints are registered on the reader in programming mode (see Add Fingerprint User).

Fingerprint Unlock Detection

To detect when a person unlocks the door with a fingerprint:

  1. Connect the reader’s NO (Normally Open) relay contact to an Input terminal on the PIERRE Controller.
  2. In the PIERRE Partner app add this input as a Contact Sensor. In the Advanced menu select Change to customise the behaviour.
  3. Use this Contact Sensor in the Automation tab as a trigger condition (when open).

Image

The diagram shows the RFID reader (Keypad + Fingerprint) connected to a PIERRE Controller. A 12 V DC supply feeds both the controller and the reader (Red = +12 V, Black = GND).

Card and PIN data go to the controller over the Wiegand lines D0 (Green) and D1 (White). LED feedback and buzzer lines can be connected for visual and audible feedback; in Wiegand Reader Mode (7 8 #) these are the Brown (LED) and Yellow (buzzer) wires. Check which working mode your installation needs before wiring them.

To detect a fingerprint unlock in PIERRE, wire the reader’s NO relay contact to a controller input and add it as a Contact Sensor in the PIERRE Partner app.

Use a common ground between the reader and the controller to keep the Wiegand signal stable.
