1. Product Description

The PIERRE Pro RFID Hotel is a door-mounted RFID reader for hotel access control. 12 V DC, wall mounted.

The PIERRE RFID hospitality reader is a door reader for hotels and guest accommodation. It provides keyless entry by RFID card or tag, includes a capacitive bell button, and shows the room status on its front face.

Key Specifications

  • Wiegand 34-bit communication protocol.
  • 13.56 MHz operating frequency.
  • MIFARE card compatibility.

Guest Use

  • The guest taps an RFID card or tag on the reader to open the door.
  • The capacitive button rings the bell in the room.

Status Colours

RedDo not disturb

The status is updated from the Smart PIERRE app, so guests and staff see the same room state.

Setup and Management

  • Doors are configured and automation rules are set up in the PIERRE Partner application during commissioning.
  • Day-to-day management is done by staff in the Smart PIERRE app: assigning roles, managing access rights, and registering users and cards centrally for every reader in the building.
  • The activity log shows what happened at the reader over a selected period.

Customisation

The hotel logo can be shown on the reader together with the room number.

Technical Notes

  • Wiegand has a limited cable length; keep the run to the controller short and use twisted-pair cable (Cat 5e, see the cable table). If shielded cable is used, earth the shield at the controller end only.
  • The reader identifies the credential. The door release is a separate output and must be wired and protected separately.
  • Agree the room numbering and the status workflow with the operator before commissioning, because the readers are configured against it.

2. What you need

Wired. Needs a PIERRE PRO or LITE Controller with free configurable I/O pins for the reader (D0 and D1, plus a third pin for LED feedback), plus the RFID Hotel reader. The reader takes 12 V from the controller.

4. FAQ

Q1: How many readers can I add to one PIERRE Controller?

On one PIERRE Controller you can add 2 RFID readers with LED feedback. If you do not need feedback, you can add 4 RFID readers. Two readers can be connected in parallel on the same configurable I/O pins if they both open the same door.

Q2: Can I get a notification with a traditional doorbell?

If the doorbell is not connected to the PIERRE system, you will not receive a notification. A traditional doorbell can be connected to a PIERRE Controller input, added as a Button in the PIERRE Partner app and used as a trigger for a notification.
