4. System requirements

The PIERRE Wave (Zigbee 3.0, 2.4 GHz) system consists of the following components.

Required

  1. PIERRE Wave products: switches, modules, sensors, thermostats and other devices. They connect wirelessly to the gateway.
  2. Gateway: a PIERRE display and/or gateway. It links all PIERRE Wave devices and handles the communication with the app.

Optional

  1. Smart PIERRE app: control and monitoring from a smartphone or tablet. Not required for basic operation.
  2. Router: gives the gateway internet access for remote control.

Operation: the gateway connects to the router by Wi-Fi or LAN. PIERRE Wave products communicate wirelessly with the gateway in both directions: commands are sent and status updates are received through the Smart PIERRE app.

What you need

Zigbee gateway: a PIERRE display and/or gateway. One of those must already be commissioned before the device can be added.

Log in with your Username and Password

Open Settings and press "Add Wave I/O"

Press and hold the Reset button until the indicator light starts flashing.

Press "Find Devices"

PIERRE application will show the list of available devices. Press "Add found devices"

Enter Name, Role and Group settings and Save it

When the Light indicator stops flashing, the PIERRE Wave pairing process is finished

6. FAQ

Q1: Which power adapter should I use?

Use only a 5 V adapter rated for at least 1 A. With a weaker adapter the PIERRE Wave IR Remote will not work properly.

Q2: How many air conditioners can be added?

Up to 3 air conditioners can be added to one PIERRE Wave IR Remote.

Q3: Can I control the devices remotely, over the mobile network?

Yes. Once the IR Remote is paired with the gateway and the gateway is connected to the internet, you can control the devices from the Smart PIERRE app over any internet connection.

Q4: The IR Remote does not control the device. What should I check?

Infrared does not pass through walls or furniture. Make sure there is a clear line of sight between the IR Remote and the controlled device.

Q5: Which gateway can I use?

Only a PIERRE display and/or gateway. Third-party Zigbee gateways are not supported.

Q6: What should I do if the IR Remote is often offline?

  1. Check that the 5 V adapter is connected and the LED is on.
  2. Check that the gateway is powered and online.
  3. Check the distance to the gateway; a mains-powered PIERRE Wave device (for example a smart plug) between them extends the Zigbee mesh.
  4. If the device has just received a firmware update, wait for it to reconnect.

Q7: How do I change the manufacturer or model of the air conditioner?

From the Smart PIERRE app or directly on the display: open the display settings, select the Wave tab and find the IR Remote in the I/O list. Open it and select the manufacturer from the list; if there are several models, select the model from the "Select Model" list.
